Transformation Groups

Transformation GroupsLife is a journey filled with adventure. In the midst of life it is important to be a part of an intimate community of people. Our desire is for people’s lives to be changed by the transformational power of the Holy Spirit as well as the interaction among others.

Rhiza is the Greek word for roots. Basically, these groups are in place to develop strong stable roots in historic Biblical truths and experiencing authentic community. This is where we develop deep life changing relationships with people who genuinely care for us. For meeting times and locations go to the calendar. (hyper link to calendar)

A Transformation Group is a small group of individuals who meet during the week in homes to experience Christian community on a regular basis. Each Transformation Group ranges from 4-12 people. These people commit to meeting regularly, praying for one another, studying the Scriptures together, serving in the local community and lovingly challenging one another to grow as they follow Jesus.

Why gather in community this way?
Here’s what it is all about:

  • Growing in faith and living life together
  • People knowing others and being know
  • Loving and being loved
  • Caring for one another
  • Learning together the meaning and purpose of following Jesus
  • Studying the Scriptures together
  • Figuring out together what it means to love our neighbors and care for the poor
  • A group of people working together discover what it means to carry each other's burdens, confess sins to one another, and perhaps even share possessions. It’s a place to eat, play and rest.

It is not a collection of perfect people who have life all figured out. A Transformation Group is for those of us who still need to grow, who need a place to ask questions and who need others to help us when we mess things up.
